What ClassLens is

ClassLens is a classroom observation and seating-plan tool provided free of charge during Phase 1. There is no payment or subscription of any kind at this stage.

Your responsibilities

• Keep your account credentials confidential.
• Only enter the minimum information the product asks for about pupils — the product is deliberately designed to prevent storing full names, dates of birth, or clinical/SEN data, and that restriction should not be worked around.
• Use the “support flag” free-text field for pastoral notes only, not diagnostic or clinical information.
• You are responsible for complying with your school’s own data protection policies and for confirming with your school’s Data Protection Officer that using ClassLens is appropriate before inviting colleagues to use it.

Availability

This is a Phase 1, actively-developed product. We aim for high availability but make no uptime guarantee. Automated daily backups are in place, but you should not treat ClassLens as your only record of classroom observations for anything you cannot afford to lose.

Data deletion

Deleting a class or your account is immediate and permanent, as described in the Privacy Policy. We cannot recover deleted data.

No warranty

ClassLens is provided “as is,” without warranty of any kind, during this free Phase 1 period. We are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the product.

Changes to the service

Features may change, and this is a free, actively-developed product rather than a finished one. We will not sell or share pupil data with third parties for advertising or any purpose unrelated to operating the product itself.
